To complement Magic's stature as the market leader in retailing basic consumer goods, Benjie thought of acquiring the franchises of leading fast food names.

In 2000, Jollibee and Greenwich stores were opened at Magic Mall. The entry of these two fastfood brands harmonized with the wide array of services and products offered by the mall.

To date, there are four Jollibee Stores, two Chowking outlets and two Greenwich Stores operated by Jollimagic Foods Group, the Foods Division of Magic.

A Lasting Relationship

Some employees who started working with Magic during its Marimar days are still with the company. Some have rendered nearly 30 years of service already and still counting more years. Many of the old timers now hold vital positions in the company / stores as they have gained the trust of management through the years.

At present, Magic now employs nearly 3,000 people. With this number of employees, Magic can also be considered as a contributor of economic growth in every town where it is located.

Social Responsibilities and Relevant Promotions

In 2000, Magic Adventure Promo was launched. This paved the way for yearly editions that is reputed as the only promo that truly dishes out coveted prizes. Magic extends the promo as an opportunity for its patrons to change their lives for the better and contribute to their well being.

In 2001, Magic Treat Kita Kid was held that fed nearly 300 indigent kids in Dagupan City. This became an annual drive that gives the children a taste of fun, entertainment and gifts even if only for a single day. With the fulfillment achieved on this endeavor, Magic Treat Kita Kid became a benchmark activity for every store that celebrates its anniversary.

Magic recognizes the noble profession of teachers as the prime molders of society. The Matalungaring a Maestro tan Maestro Awards intends to give due appreciation to these unsung heroes.

The Miss Magic Pageant, the grandest and most glamorous beauty pageant in Pangasinan, was initiated by Magic in 2001.. The pageant's professional handling and paramount standing makes it an annual event in the province and now looked forward to even by spectators and beauties from nearby provinces.

In the opening ceremonies of Miss Magic 2009, Magic CEO Marc Brian Lim said, "Magic Group of Companies is proud that it has fashioned a perfect avenue for our young and aspiring ladies, showing not just beauty of the face and body, but also display intelligence and wits, and flaunt the inner persona of a Filipina that is admired all over the world."

The most extensive singing and personality search in the region, Magic Idol, also commands a huge following. The competition redefines singing contest in the Pangasinan as it involves music professionals in the training and preparation of the competitors.

As a country of music enthusiasts, the competition serves as a perfect avenue for the local talents to excel and showcase their aptitudes and capability to compete even on the national scene.

Going down central and up north.

Magic now caters to the growing market demand in key areas in the Pangasinan. All four cities of the province are covered and other potential municipalities are well served.

Magic's domination will not end in the province alone. The potential of market up north is predicted to be very promising as Magic is now conquering the market in Agoo, La Union, Narvacan and further north, in JTC Mall, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

The people from these areas now enjoy a comfortable and first class shopping experience with the advent of Magic Department Store and Appliance Center serving them.

In Nueva Ecija, its trade and commercial hub, San Jose City is complemented by the rise of Magic Family Mart.

More areas, more outlets coming in.

Back in Pangasinan, rising demand of customers for practical shopping or shopping just within their communities was answered with Magic arriving in their communities.

Malasiqui, Binmaley, Manaoag and Pozorrubio now have added a landmark in their respective towns with Magic Family Mart. People in these towns now enjoy what major towns in the province have enjoyed over the years, having a Magic outlet in their community.

The accomplishments garnered by Magic Mall in Urdaneta City inspired Magic top management to unveil another Magic Mall, this time in the thriving town of Tayug; situated at the heart of the municipality, right in front of the municipal hall and beside the Catholic Church and close to the public market.

Undaunted by the giant competitor just few towns away, Magic is confident that Magic Mall Tayug will be a beacon of progress for this eastern town of the province.

Magic Mall Tayug houses a supermarket, department store, appliance center; several fast-food chains and boasts a balanced mixture of tenants.

In its opening last June 4, residents were so delighted that a modern commercial complex was hosted by their town.

Aside from the four major business ventures, Department Store, Supermarket, Appliances and Foods Group, Magic, unknown to many is also engaged in other associated enterprises. Magic Sales Incorporated is a distributorship; Urdaneta Builders and Realty Corporation (UBRC) operate Magic Mall and is engaged in realty; Ma-sarap Grill is affianced for food and catering services; Human Resources Specialist Inc., (HRSI) and SMSI are agencies that deploys manpower needs.

Now celebrating 20 years.

In his most recent interview, MGC President, Benjie Lim thanked the people who brought Magic to where it is. He also expressed appreciation to those who have unselfishly rendered their contribution to the company's growth, the employees and business partners.

In one of his speeches, the younger Lim also added, "Magic will never fail to deliver what we think is best for our patrons."
